Short characteristics of qualification
The graduate possesses a general knowledge of social sciences, humanities and medical sciences and a specialist knowledge of psychology definings his competences in the area of: formulation of psychological diagnoses, opinions and psychological adjudication, provision of psychological assistance. These skills are developed against the background of theoretical and empirical knowledge in the field of: basics of psychology, psychology methodology, personality, psychometry, psychological counseling, communication styles, psychotherapy, psycho-prevention, psychology of individual, clinical, social, religion, educational, family, rehabilitation, work, organization and management; standards for the construction and use of psychological diagnostic methods. Depending on the chosen specialization, the graduate develops competences in the field of: Psychology supporting the quality of life (PWJŻ): diagnostics (psychological norm and pathology), individual and team work in teams providing psychological help; formulating psychological problems (genesis, consequences) in order to develop and conduct a research project, developing and presenting the results, performing a qualitative interpretation. Business and entrepreneurial psychology (PBiP): conflict resolution, human resource management, employee selection, marketing, negotiation techniques, employee support (EAP), employee training and retraining, effective use of time, public relations, advertising psychology, work safety. Graduates can take up employment in various positions as psychologists. Depending on employer requirements, further training to obtain additional competences at a postgraduate level may be required. During the course of study, profiling of professional skills occurs through the selection of a specialized module. PWJŻ graduate is prepared to work as: psychologist in psychological and pedagogical counseling centre, diagnostician, clinical, psychotherapist, specialist in crisis intervention (education, health care, comprehensive rehabilitation, judiciary, penitentiary centers, pastoral care, workplaces, military services and police and others). Modules: Psychology - 1) Clinical and Personality, 2) Education and Communication, 3) Social and cultural psychology, 4) Social readaptation and resocialisation, 5) Quality of life, 3) Psychoprophylaxis and Psychotherapy. A PBiP graduate is prepared to work in the positions of: business trainer, recruitment and training specialist, vocational counselor, transport psychologist, job specialist, marketing, advertising, human resources management, employment agencies and intermediaries in search of employees, coordinator of vocational rehabilitation, consulting companies, in public administration and comprehensive rehabilitation centres. Modules: 1) Marketing and Advertising, 2) Organization and Management, 3) Career counseling, 4) Subjective conditions of human activity, 5) Mediation in business, 6) Group and cultural processes.

Obtaining a master"s degree entitles to pursue the profession of a psychologist. Professional qualifications to practice the profession of a psychologist, irrespective of the completed specialty (Psychology of supporting the quality of life, Business and entrepreneurial psychology), in accordance with the Act of 8 June 2001 on the profession of a psychologist and professional self-government of psychologists (Journal of Laws 2001 No. 73 item 763). Graduates of the PWJŻ specialization (Module: Psychology of Education and Communication) obtain qualifications to practice the profession of a psychologist teacher in accordance with the regulation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of July 25, 2019 on the standard of education preparing for the profession of a teacher (Journal of Laws 2019 item 1450).
