Short characteristics of qualification
Graduates have the knowledge of engineering and technical sciences, agriculture and the arts as well as practical engineering skills. Graduates are able to perform development projects and inventory works of various types of landscape architecture objects, including historic gardens and parks. They are able to evaluate the resources of natural and anthropogenic environments (detailed evaluation of flora and preliminary evaluation of fauna) as well as to design the landscape taking into consideration biodiversity and climate changes. They possess the knowledge and skills necessary in arranging and cultivating objects of landscape architecture as well as elements of their equipment. They know how to supervise the implementation and cultivation of works in those objects. They can design green areas taking into account the biological and cultural needs of their users and showing respect for landscape identity, legal regulations and professional ethics. Graduates know a foreign language at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and use basic specialist vocabulary of landscape architecture. The studies prepare for the profession of: landscape architect, green designer, green manager, public space designer. Graduates can work in studios and companies, in teams involved in design, arrangement and cultivation of landscape architecture objects. They can also work in offices dealing with the formation of the natural environment; government and non-government administration units, research and development centres. Graduates are also prepared to run their own business.Graduates can prepare full design and technical documentation of various types of green areas using specialized software, for example VectorWorks. They can design and arrange various types of green areas, for instance: home gardens, city parks, greenery of housing estates, street greenery, greenery at commercial, religious, educational or healthcare objects.

Additional qualification information
The study program offers elective courses which enable the student to flexibly choose a range of competences in accordance with the planned career path. Practical skills are acquired through obligatory field exercises and professional internships in cooperation with companies functioning in landscape architecture. Internships can be done under the ERASMUS + programme. In addition, the University offers a range of internships through the Career Office. The completion of first-cycle studies entitles students to apply for admission to second-cycle studies (European Qualifications Framework level 7) and to continue education at a post-graduate level.
