Short characteristics of qualification
The graduate has a advanced knowledge of Polish-Dutch and Polish-Flemish relations, current political, economic and social issues, history, culture, literature and the media of the Dutch language area. The graduate has a high command of Dutch in speech and writing - at a level similar to the native language, i.e. at the C1 CEFR proficiency level. Hij/She is a specialist in the field of written (functional and literary) and oral (consecutive and simultaneous) translation. In a professional context, the graduate is able to use his/her comprehensive and well-founded humanistic knowledge, his/her philological and translation knowledge as well as an intercultural competences. The graduate possesses advanced scientific and research competences, i.e. searching, analyzing, selecting information using various sources, formulating critical judgments, choosing methods and constructing research tools within the disciplines of Dutch philology. A person with this qualification can seek employment in domestic and foreign companies / institutions where the knowledge of Dutch is needed, in particular in: - translation agencies or translation departments in companies and institutions, travel agencies, companies providing translation services - commercial, service and production companies cooperating with businesses in the Dutch language area - cultural institutions (museums, theaters, galleries) promoting the development of Dutch artistic thought - municipal and regional promotion offices, self-government centers for international cooperation - consulting offices - educational institutions - public administration institutions - publishing houses, editorial boards of magazines, - associations and foundations promoting cooperation with the countries of the Dutch language area (e.g. Dutch-Polish Chamber of Commerce, Polish-Dutch Trade Promotion Center, Flemish Economic Representation) - diplomatic missions. A graduate can also be self-employed as a freelance translator.

A person with this qualification may take an exam for a sworn translator of Dutch.
Additional qualification information
The study program includes compulsory internships: 60 hours which can be taken in a Polish, Flemish or Dutch company or institution, as well as during an Erasmus exchange in the Netherlands or Flanders. The University offers the possibility of continuing studies at the doctoral school to obtain a qualification at EQF level 8 and to continue education at post-graduate studies.
