Short characteristics of qualification

Graduates apply advanced knowledge in medical and health sciences and in individualised medical care as nurses. They design and plan human resources policies to match patients’ needs. They organize and manage nursing care, cooperate with members of medical teams to enhance the quality of care services, monitor and introduce tools to monitor the quality of nursing care and they use a wide array of methods in organising and managing care. They identify and solve efficiency issues to improve effectiveness in nursing positions. They autonomously dispense medicines, specialist nutrients and other medical substances, along with writing prescriptions or orders. They solve professional issues relating to complex decision making in critical cases – typical of medical workplaces. They act in full compliance with applicable law in their professional performance. They select appropriate teaching methodologies as well as learning and teaching evaluation frameworks. They design programmes in health education and implement them in response to the identified community needs. They are prepared to conduct research and disseminate research results in their field of research.

Graduates are qualified for performing at all nursing positions in health care and other related institutions. Also, graduates are qualified to run their own business in the field of qualification, cooperate with institutions active in the field of public health, conduct research at universities or research centres, work with health insurance institutions, work with State Sanitary Inspectorate and other organisations active in the field of environmental protection, work with institutions educating for the nursing profession, offering advanced training in nursing or performing in public health education.

Graduates are prepared to manage relevant human resources, organize the work of nursing teams and supervise the quality of care delivered. Specialist knowledge of medical subjects, psychology and psychotherapy based on the Christian axiological foundation enables graduates to autonomously assess each case and situation and undertake adequate measures. Graduates demonstrate trained habits of lifelong education and professional development.
