A graduate has necessary professional skills and a systematic knowledge of issues surrounding security and crisis management. While using the acquired knowledge and skills they follow high professional and ethical standards. A graduate has a systematic understanding of dynamic security processes, taking into account trends such as globalisation, regionalisation and institutionalisation. They have advanced knowledge of issues relating to the security of the European Union, its institutions, and EU internal and external relations. A graduate is able to use advanced knowledge of security issues and has the necessary skills to analyse, diagnose, explain and forecast security systems and develop emergency strategies. Graduates have advanced skills pertinent to the interpretation of legal aspects of national security, especially those resulting from Poland"s membership in the European Union. They correctly assesses threats to national security and identify their origins. They use communication and information technology for problem analysis as well as for information storing, processing and presentation. They are able to work in a team as team leaders and team members. Graduates display constant ability to independently acquire knowledge and raise their own professional qualifications. They are able to communicate using specialised terminology and lead a debate. They can speak a foreign language at B2+ CEFR level. National Security degree allows graduates to follow a range of careers in major state, public and private institutions dealing with state security, in public administration, in industry, as well as in state security services and agencies; in research institutions and research and development centres dealing with security issues. Graduates are prepared to perform managerial tasks and organise team work, especially in the field of tasks related to public safety and civil defence as well as international security.Graduates in a professional context are able to produce a substantial piece of research pertaining to security issues and communicate their research results. A person with this qualification has the ability to work and manage a team under pressure and knows how to deal with time and stress constraints.

A student has to take an obligatory traineeship (60 hours) in a security sector institution. The graduate can continue education at postgraduate studies. The graduate can also apply for admission to doctoral school to attain a qualification at EQF level 8.
