The holiday season is beginning, which may mean you have a little more time for yourself. If you would like to combine summer relaxation in the garden with an enjoyable and informative read or interview, explore the publications of the Educational Research Institute – National Research Institute (IBE PIB). Would you rather read or listen?

What should you read?

Who says you have to read academic publications at your desk? You can download IBE PIB’s free publications to your tablet or phone and enjoy them while relaxing on a sun lounger. They are a source of useful tools and inspiration for your work after the summer holidays.

You can find more publications on the IBE PIB website.

What’s worth listening to?

Don’t feel like reading? Put on your headphones, close your eyes and listen to how the world of recruitment and education is changing. Whether you’re on the beach or relaxing in the shade of the trees, you can enjoy a series of video podcasts entitled ‘Skills first. A podcast about keeping up with the times’. The conversations cover education, the labour market, career decisions and the importance of lifelong learning.

  • Leave everything behind and move to the Bieszczady Mountains: Dr Ewa Woydyłło explains what burnout is and how to recognise its symptoms. The expert also offers advice on how to prevent burnout and look after our mental health.
  • A CV from a recruiter’s perspective: Joanna Malinowska-Parzydło discusses changes in the labour market and how employers and recruiters are changing their approach to candidates. The conversation also explores the importance of building a personal brand and whether experience matters more than a university degree.
  • Is higher education here to stay? – Professor Grzegorz Mazurek points out that demand for higher education is not declining, but the very concept of studying is changing. What can a modern university offer students, and what should prospective students bear in mind? You will find the answers in this episode.
