The Minister of Digitalization included five qualifications related to the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard in the IQS. This standard consists of a set of rules concerning the accessibility of websites for people with disabilities and the elderly.
Using the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard for web development and web pages adaptation
The holder of the qualification in using the WCAG standard in creating and adapting web pages can discuss issues related to the WCAG standard in the area of web accessibility, independently creates a web page in accordance with the WCAG accessibility standard or adapts an existing page to the requirements of the standard, carries out the process of examining the site with automated tools, identifies and then corrects issues related to the accessibility of the site.
Using the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard in creating and adapting digital documents
The holder of the qualification "Using the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard in creating and adapting digital documents" can create a digital document or adapt it according to the WCAG digital accessibility standard, identify digital accessibility issues and fix them, and assess the needs and expectations of people to whom digital documents are addressed. In doing so, he/she uses their knowledge of the WCAG standard. Selects and uses software components to support accessibility, independently finds solutions to potential issues, uses and performs maintenance of the assistive technologies. Edits documents in PDF editors, makes independent decisions about the selection of tools for validating digital accessibility.
Organizing services of adapting multimedia to the WCAG standard with basic skills of adapting multimedia for people with individual needs
The holder of the qualification organizes services of adapting multimedia on websites according to the WCAG standard (selects, orders and accepts provided accessibility services) and, in the case of uncomplicated and short types of multimedia, adapts, at a basic level, the multimedia content on websites to the requirements of people with special needs. Works with translators, multimedia creators from whom he/she contracts services, and collaborates with webmasters/programmers in technical matters, and. at a basic level, creates subtitles for the deaf and prepares audio description scripts. The holder of the qualification can apply the principles of creating accessible multimedia which allows making independent decisions in non-standard situations.
Using the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard in editing web pages
The holder of the qualification "Using the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard in editing web pages" independently manages website modules using content management systems (CMS). Finds, adds and evaluates website modules for accessibility to people with special needs. Characterizes websites in terms of accessibility for people with special needs or lack thereof, classifies problems according to their importance to digital accessibility. Independently finds solutions to content editing problems within the available CMS back-end tools and identifies basic problems with content placed on websites. Edits website content in a way that makes it accessible to individuals with special needs, writes text at an appropriate level of readability using readability tools. Edits correct, WCAG-compliant semantic text structure (assigns headings, lists, tables) and adequate alternative descriptions for photos and other graphics placed on the website.
Using the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard when developing and customizing mobile applications
The holder of the qualification in the use of the WCAG standard in the development and customization of mobile applications independently creates or customizes mobile applications accessible to people with special needs, conducts an application accessibility screening process, identifies accessibility issues and remedies them. In doing so, he/she leverages knowledge of the WCAG accessibility standard. Appropriately selects and uses software components to support accessibility, independently finds and proposes solutions to potential problems, uses and provides support for mobile assistive technologies. The holder of the qualification makes his or her own decisions about the selection of accessibility validation tools. Holding this qualification allows you to both use existing methods and patterns and to explore and implement your own methods and solutions.
