The holder of the market qualification "Preparing vehicles for repair painting - spray painter assistant" is ready to perform activities involving preparation of surfaces for paint application. Selects and prepares materials, equipment, and tools for preparatory work in accordance with the technology selected by supervisor, manufacturers' guidelines, and type of coating, such as KTL or protective transportation coating. Working under supervision, cleans, masks surfaces that will not be painted, applies anticorrosion protection, applies filler materials, and prepares the surface for further paint work. During this work, uses paint shop equipment such as infrared heaters, paint booths, paint guns, and other additional equipment used in vehicle repair. Uses basic knowledge of spray painting. Applies principles of self-protection and adheres to occupational safety and health principles in his/her work. Segregates paint waste according to environmental protection requirements.
