New market qualification - "Organizing on-site medical waste management" - was included in the IQS by The Minister of Health.

Organizing on-site medical waste management

The holder of the qualification “Organizing on-site medical waste management” works independently, occasionally overseeing the work of others. Is responsible for developing procedures for handling medical waste and the procedure for circulating records of medical waste at the place of employment. As part of the operations at the facility, arranges medical waste collection and works with outside entities in the area of collection and processing of medical waste.

Prepares materials and organizes training on proper medical waste management for other employees in the facility. The tasks of the holder of the qualification "Organizing on-site medical waste management" also include preparing and organizing periodic internal inspections and cooperation with external inspection authorities.

The holder of the qualification shall apply the provisions of the law governing the management of medical waste on-site.
