Very good news for winter sports fans. A total of five qualifications that will allow interested individuals to obtain certificates useful for conducting training in skiing and snowboarding have been included in the IQS.
Conducting lesson units related to learning and improving snowboarding skills
The holder of the qualification 'Conducting lesson units related to learning and improving snowboarding skills' is equipped to independently plan, organise, conduct, and monitor lesson units related to learning and improving snowboarding skills using pre-established work plans within the Sport for All programme. Possesses basic and intermediate snowboarding skills in accordance with the relevant curricula implemented in Poland. Prepares lesson outlines by selecting exercises based on the topic of the session and participants' skill levels, while considering the variability of weather conditions. Explains exercises and teaches snowboarding in accordance with the principles of safety and health, applying the principles of theory and methodology of sports for all and using tools of communication and motivation. While performing professional tasks, carries out educational and informational activities and promotes physical activity through his/her own attitude. Monitors riding technique and the way the participants perform the exercises. The performed activities are based on the knowledge concerning the general principles of snowboarding as a sport discipline. Is prepared to monitor his/her own work according to the guidelines of supervisors. The holder of the qualification is responsible for the quality and safety of the conducted lesson.
Conducting instructional process in snowboarding
The holder of the qualification "Conducting instructional process in snowboarding" is prepared to independently plan, organise, and conduct lessons and instructional processes in snowboarding based on applicable training systems, considering the guidelines of the instructing organisation, within the framework of Sports for All. Possesses basic and intermediate snowboarding skills in accordance with the relevant curricula implemented in Poland. Assesses the participants' level of sports skills Prepares a plan for implementing the instructional process using selected methods, forms, and resources. Organises and conducts the instructional process, analysing his/her professional actions for the purpose of optimising the plan and implementation of the instructional process. Uses communication and motivation tools. The holder of the qualification is prepared to analyse and assess the skills of conducting instructional sessions by individuals with lower instructor qualifications (so-called assistant instructors). Performs his/her activities based on knowledge concerning the theoretical foundations of planning and implementing the instructional process in snowboarding and carrying out educational and instructional work. Is prepared to promote a healthy lifestyle through physical activity. The holder of the qualification is responsible for the quality and safety of conducted sessions as well as for the actions carried out by colleagues.
Planning and conducting instructional process in snowboarding
The holder of the qualification "Planning and conducting instructional process in snowboarding" is prepared to independently plan, organise, and conduct lessons and instructional processes in snowboarding based on applicable training systems, taking into account the guidelines of the training organisation, within the framework of Sports for All. Possesses basic, intermediate and advanced snowboarding skills in accordance with the relevant curricula implemented in Poland. Is preparing an implementation plan for the instructional process, utilising methods, forms, and means used in other sports disciplines, and customising the selection of methods, forms, and means for the participants of the process. Conducts the instructional process, analyses his/her professional actions for the purpose of optimising the plan and implementation of the instructional process. Improve the process of achieving goals by using communication and motivation tools. The holder of the qualification is prepared to conduct the professional development process for individuals with lower instructor qualifications (both domestically and abroad), including validating their skills. Is prepared to organise recreational events, including those aimed at promoting snowboarding among children and youth. The holder of the qualification is responsible for the quality and safety of the conducted sessions as well as for the actions carried out by colleagues. Performs his/her activities based on the knowledge concerning the theoretical foundations of planning and implementing the instructional process in snowboarding.
Teaching recreational alpine skiing with a special focus on children
The holder of the qualification plans and conducts sessions aimed at preparing participants, with a particular emphasis on children, to safely use skiing facilities and enjoy recreational skiing. Enhances their level of physical fitness, skiing motor skills, and imparts knowledge related to safe equipment use, ski lifts, and skiing areas while also shaping ethical attitudes. The qualification holder, based on the diagnosed needs and capabilities of the participants, with a special focus on children, prepares a training plan and a lesson outline. Organises, plans, conducts, and supervises instructional sessions. Assists participants, including providing guidance and correcting errors. Ensures the safe organisation of sessions, being aware of his/her responsibility for the safety of participants, with a special focus on children. Possesses the skill of skiing proficiently and demonstrating the taught skiing techniques. Performs these activities using knowledge of mountain safety, principles of instructional methodology, and the fundamentals of human ontogeny.
Teaching alpine skiing at an advanced level
The holder of the qualification plans and conducts advanced-level alpine skiing training. Enhances the participants' physical fitness and alpine skiing technical skills in diverse snow and terrain conditions, prepares them for amateur sports competition, and imparts knowledge concerning safe equipment use and skiing areas. Promotes ethical attitudes in the practice of skiing. The qualification holder, based on the diagnosed needs and capabilities of the participants, prepares a plan for a training cycle in advanced-level alpine skiing. Organises, plans, and conducts instructional sessions. Assists participants, including providing guidance and correcting errors. Ensures the safe organisation of instructional sessions, taking responsibility for the safety of the individuals participating in advanced-level skiing training and the participants of amateur skiing competitions. Possesses a high level of technical skills in alpine skiing. Performs the tasks using high motor skills, extensive knowledge of mountain safety, skiing technique, principles of teaching methodology, as well as the biological and psychosocial foundations of physical effort. The holder of the qualification is prepared to plan amateur skiing competitions.
